My name is Mrs. Anne
DeMatz. I have been a Reading Specialist for many years. I was assigned
to St. Bernard's for the 2004-2005 school year, working with most
students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth grade. I am very
happy to be teaching here again this year working with students
in grades Kindergarten through grade four.
Some Reading Tips
to
Improve Your Reading Skills:
1. Phonemic Awareness
- be aware of the sounds letters make.
2. Phonics - know how
to sound words out.
3. Fluency - increase
the speed of your reading.
4. Vocabulary - know
the meaning of your vocabulary words.
5. Comprehension -
understand what you read.
