Kindergarten News

Book
It
Book It has now ended for the year. Thank you for the great
participation in this reading incentive program. Please
continue to read with your children. They learn so many
important skills by listening to stories. Since I was so
late getting the March reading log sheet home to you, please
feel free to take a few extra weeks to complete the reading
list. I will accept March Book It slips through April 11th.
|
Homework
Calendars

Some
of the children did not complete their homework calendars
during the months of February and March. Please take the time
to complete these simple assignments with your child. We don't
want them to get the impression early on that homework is
optional. That would cause escalating problems in the future
that we hope to avoid. Also, when writing words for homework
in the agenda, please use the left side where the dates/days
are located. We use the right side for the words we write
at school.

Books
At Home
I'm so pleased with the number of students
who have been reading books to me at rest time. When they
have read a book to me I than put it in their agenda pocket
so they can read it to you at home. Please write a little
note in the agenda to let me know that your child did read
the book to you. Also, please try to return the book to
school the next day so that others can use it. Some of the
children are reading a book to me every day.
|

Spring
Attire
Please be aware that the khaki shorts become part of the school
uniform again after Easter. Shorts may also be worn for gym
class if the weather is warm enough. Don't forget to have
girls wear shorts under their uniforms so they can climb on
the playground equipment. We will be going outside quite frequently
when the weather turns nice.

Kindergarten
Clinic
Please note that there is no school for Kindergarten students
on Thursday, April 24th. That is a day we set aside to meet
with parents and students of next year's Kindergarten class.
|
Mass
Beginning in February Kindergarten will be attending Mass every
week at school. Their behavior is excellent, so I think they're
ready to go now on a weekly basis. |
