5th Grade Math

Fifth grade is moving right along in Math. We will begin Unit 3 in January with dividing decimals followed by collecting data, making and reading pictographs, and bar and line graphs.

They will explore finding range, median, mode, and mean of data.

The majority of the winter months will be busy with prime and composite numbers, factorization, and fractions, fractions, and more FRACTIONS!

6th Grade Math

The 6th grade curriculum closely follows 5th but , as Mrs. Mooney would say, it is "bumped up a notch!" 6th grade will also spend time with fractions, fractions, and more FRACTIONS!

Spring will come and bring us customary and metric units.

7th Grade Math

Seventh grade has moved into Algebra I. We are finished with 1-step equations and are ready to try 2-step equations, consecutive integers, clearing fractions, and solving problems with variables on both sides.

8th Grade Language Arts

Eighth grade has started to read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee after finishing a project to better understand life in the 1930's.

They will continue to get ready for high school by practicing figurative language, analogies, them, sequence, symbolism, literacy devices, onomatopeia, irony, hyperbole, etc.
